Our History


In 2007, we relocated from the bustling New York City to the serene Laguna Beach, where we embarked on an exciting culinary journey. Our passion for authentic, wood-grilled cuisine led us to establish Maro Wood Grill in 2008. For almost a decade, we served the community with the freshest ingredients, innovative recipes, and exceptional hospitality.


However, in 2017, we decided to embark on a new adventure and explore the enchanting region of Patagonia, Argentina. This expedition proved to be a transformative experience that rejuvenated our love for cooking and exposed us to the rich and diverse culinary traditions of Argentina.


In Patagonia, we indulged in the age-old ritual of gathering around a wood-burning fire, savoring the flavors of native dishes prepared according to the region. We discovered that Argentina's table is a place for celebration and lively gatherings of its people. This experience inspired us to fuse Hawaiian and Argentinian cuisine when we took over operations at the Royal Hawaiian Fire Grill upon our return.

Although our tenure at Royal Hawaiian Fire Grill ended prematurely in the summer of 2023 due to rental increments, we are excited to channel our passion and culinary talents into our new restaurant, Tierra de Fuegos. Our goal is to bring the taste and essence of Argentinian cuisine to our patrons, creating an unforgettable dining experience with every meal.
